Perforated Mother Goddess

It is part of the archaic collection, it is a pendant that represents, in a stylized way, the divinity of the GODDESS MOTHER. The cult of the Mother Goddess concerns a primordial divinity who personified the cyclical alternation of life and death, expressing the concept of rebirth through the representation of her. In Sardinia this cult is attested by the discovery of about 150 stone, bone and terracotta figurines, coming mainly from burial sites. The image of the Mother Goddess was intended as a link between man and the afterlife, it was linked to the concept of fertility and to the cult of the natural elements that contributed to this.
